Strange Trip

I took a strange trip down a one-way street and I couldn’t turn back
I emptied my pockets, closed my eyes and left the world behind
I had a one-way ticket to heaven or hell but I didn’t know which
I felt a cold hand reachin’ out for me but I was too far away

Chorus:
Giving up is easy, to tell you the truth
But I haven’t found a way to say goodbye
Living’s so easy when it all goes your way
But it’s hard to keep promises when you’re on your own

I couldn’t remember what made me feel good ‘cause it had been so damn long
But something inside I just can’t describe was longing to know
A few bad decisions, some misunderstandings had thrown me off course
And it’s hard to get right when you stumble at night and wake up alone

Chorus:
Giving up is easy, to tell you the truth
But I haven’t found a way to say goodbye
Living’s so easy when it all goes your way
But it’s hard to keep promises when you’re on your own
